Rampardos + Cranidos

Update number two for these guys. Originally a terrible drawing in my scraps I redid it but still wasn't totally settled on it, then after I got around to smartening up Bastiodon this was next on my list.

Validuchorona or Rampardos are pokemon that were native to Sinnoh some 65 million years ago which have recently been revived from fossil skulls of the young.

These pokemon were irritable and violent, despite their herbivorous nature. Only females formed small groups whereas males were solitary and regardless of sex fights were very common. Only young Cranidos could evade the rage of the adults though amongst themselves the fighting was just as fierce. Predominantly browsers Rampardos had unspecialised dentition which meant they didn't have to limit themselves to one type of food and were adaptable in their diets. It wasn't uncommon to see Rampardos (especially Cranidos) gnawing any bones they found as the formation of their mighty skulls no doubt needed a lot of calcium.

Rampardos' distinguishing characteristic is without doubt its incredibly solid head. Ringed with spikes and harder than stone it provided them with a potent weapon that could shatter the bones of even larger predators. Amongst themselves they clattered their heads against each other, trying to batter opponents into submission and establishing a hierarchy. Unlike many herbivores Rampardos were no cowards and didn't just stand their ground but actively attacked would-be predators, a daunting prospect if one stumbled upon a herd.

Cranidos are largely identical to their adult counterparts but lack the distinctive ridge along their backs, a fatty reserve for harder times and ample attachment for the impressive neck muscles.
